FRWP Commemorates 3rd Anniversary despite Jokowi’s Inauguration

WHAT: Foreign Affairs Office of the Federal Republic of West Papua (FRWP) commemorates 3rd anniversary this Sunday, 19 October 2014.
In 2011, five-thousand academics, politicians, church leaders, and senior tribal leaders established the FRWP on 19 October during the 3rd Papua Congress with its determined objective to elect a president and a prime minister.
The Indonesian government immediately charged President Forkorus Yaboisembut, Prime Minister Edison Waromi, and three organizers of the Congress, with subversion, and they were incarcerated for three years.
In August 2014, they were released from prison and currently building a political house for the carriage and distillation of the nation’s tribal, traditional, and modern ways of thinking and being.
Rev. Robert Stringer, Retired Clergy Uniting Church, will be the keynote speaker.
